Friday treats for your ears!

We’ve been absolutely spoilt this morning with both Amy Shark AND Allday dropping new singles and we couldn’t be more stoked!

After scoring the #2 spot in triple j’s Hottest 100 for her single ‘Adore’, Amy Shark has had all eyes on her waiting to see what she would release next. ‘Weekends’ premiered yesterday on triple j with Veronica and Lewis and the praise came streaming through!

We’re big fans of this track. It retains the lyrical style we’ve come to love from the Queenslander and is backed by electronic percussions. “’Weekends’ is an extremely personal song,” she says. “I actually wrote the guitar part about five years ago which sounds crazy, but I couldn’t think of any lyrics good enough to match the guitar so I let it go for so many years, until now!”

‘Weekends’ it’s the first taste of her upcoming EP Night Thinker which is due out on 21st April! Pre-order available now.

Allday delivered ‘In Motion (feat. Japanese Wallpaper)’, which is a softer side to Allday then we’ve seen as of late and it’s definitely working for him. When we first heard rumours of the two Melbourne musicians collaborating, we were intrigued as to what it would sound like, but ‘In Motion’ is a beauty. Allday’s distinctive vocals backed in by Japanese Wallpaper’s ethereal electronic production just works, and we REALLY hope there’s more to come from these two. People are frothing over the collab.

Allday has also just announced his new album Speeding which will, like Amy Shark, be released on 21st April! Pre-order available now.

Both tunes have been added to our Spotify playlist – listen below!
